In this realistic drawing, you see the subject holding a Roman catholic rosary, with eyes closed in the mode of prayer. The piece seeks to describe the state of many religious mothers during the COVID '19 lockdown.

The sacrifice of my breath blinded to be free- that's the restrictions the face mask has caused. In the dark days- the time we live in now, the world is experiencing a dark time.

The eyes rest while the heart wanders with the burden of its desires seeking light - since we can't see her mouth saying the prayers, we assume she's praying in her heart plus she's closing her eyes hence "the eyes rest". Seeking of light is the opposite of being in a dark place.

In Him is no darkness at all. (from the Bible 1 John 1:5), the Rosary she's holding depicts that the light she seeks is God. A Passing Cloud - this pandemic will pass just like a cloud.

This piece is a continuation of "death and all his friends" series. The series is a thought on our experiences during the COVID '19 pandemic, a kind message to ourselves: never giving up and never focusing on the wrong things.
